Booked on app, missing at shop
Farmers say urea they reserved on the state app isn’t turning up at dealers. Telangana opened MeeSeva booking to patch the gap; the Congress government now owes an answer for the queues, the server stumbles and the basic question from those without smartphones.

Farmers in Siddipet, Medak and Sangareddy have held road protests over the past week saying urea they booked on the government fertiliser app did not materialise at nearby shops, according to a local report. In Gambhiraopet, Rajanna-Sircilla, officials reportedly listed 1,120 bags online at a single-window outlet; farmers who had booking IDs gathered from 8 a.m. the next day, and distribution slowed amid server problems, leaving people in queues long enough to hold places with footwear. The same report mentions lines in Thangallapalli and a Karimnagar farmer, Ellaiah of Duddunapalli, asking Minister Ponnam Prabhakar how those without smartphones are expected to book at all.
This is not the first time execution has tripped the app. Back in February, the Rajanna-Sircilla administration said there was no fertiliser shortage in that district while acknowledging that many farmers struggled with the app; it put numbers on it — 92,735 bags received since Feb 1, 79,948 purchases completed, 11,694 bags still in stock, and 740 farmers yet to collect. The government later opened booking through MeeSeva centres with 48-hour validity to cover those who cannot or will not book on a phone.
What we do not have today is fresh, district-wise stock and booking data to back a statewide shortage claim. The app’s own listing promises real-time district and state stock visibility; if farmers are booking against stock that dealers don’t have on hand, that mismatch is the problem to fix, not a queue to blame. The Congress-run state government has not bothered to explain why a system built to show availability is still sending farmers on empty trips.
