BRS files notice; fake-account proof still missing
BRS says Revanth Reddy relied on a disputed social-media account in the Assembly. The account’s ownership and authenticity remain unverified.
The privilege notice has arrived; the supporting records have not.
BRS has announced a breach-of-privilege move against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, alleging that he relied on posts from an account called “Sandhya Rao” or “Sandhya Rao BRS” during his September 9 Assembly speech. The party says it will also seek a police investigation into the account. The allegation is still an allegation; the internet has not yet supplied the paperwork.
Telangana Today reported that BRS leader T. Harish Rao announced the privilege action. A separate PTI report said MLAs G. Mahipal Reddy and B. Laxma Reddy submitted a notice addressed to Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar to Assembly Secretary R. Tirupati, while R. S. Praveen Kumar submitted a cybercrime complaint. The notice and complaint were not publicly available for verification.
BRS alleges that the account was operated by the Congress social-media or IT cell and that Revanth Reddy presented its posts as facts. No police finding, platform record, forensic evidence or Assembly transcript confirming those claims was located. Revanth Reddy and the Congress government have not publicly responded specifically to the allegation. The Assembly’s public portal currently shows “House Not In Session” and “Notices Received 0”, which confirms mainly that public portals can also choose suspense.
