Chennai Love Story hits OTT in 28 days
Cinema Express says Kiran Abbavaram’s Telugu romance lands on SonyLIV on August 21, in five languages. The makers had opened it in theatres on July 24. Official SonyLIV confirmation wasn’t found in the record reviewed.
Chennai Love Story is reported to arrive on SonyLIV 28 days after its theatrical release.
Chennai Love Story, starring Kiran Abbavaram and Sri Gouri Priya, is headed to streaming barely four weeks after release. According to a Cinema Express report, the film premieres on SonyLIV on August 21 in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
The makers had announced a worldwide theatrical release for July 24, 2026, and BookMyShow lists the film at 2 hours 59 minutes with Ravi Namburi credited as writer-director and Sai Rajesh and SKN as producers under Mass Movie Makers and Amrutha Productions. By that calendar, the theatre-to-OTT gap is 28 days — quick by any standard, even if Delhi’s culture czars are still arguing about what counts as “window”.
Cinema Express also repeats the industry’s favourite sport — counting collections without an audit — with a “nearly Rs 60 crore” gross claim. Sakshi Post has versions that say over Rs 60 crore or over Rs 50 crore. Pick your favourite; none of these are filings.
We did not locate an official SonyLIV listing, platform announcement or a spokesperson quote in the sources reviewed. If SonyLIV plans all five languages on day one, it can say so — preferably somewhere other than a whisper to the trade.
