Chiru’s Mega158 eyes Sankranthi — reportedly
Trade says Chiranjeevi–Bobby’s #MEGA158 is lining up for Sankranthi 2027 with 40 shoot days done. The makers haven’t said so. Yet.
The Sankranthi 2027 release date remains unconfirmed.
TeluguCinema reports that Chiranjeevi’s untitled film with director Bobby Kolli — widely tagged “Mega158” — has wrapped about 40 days of shooting and is being positioned for a Sankranthi 2027 release, with an announcement expected on August 22, Chiranjeevi’s birthday. The report also says the current schedule is underway in Hyderabad and that the first half is nearly edit-locked.
KVN Productions’ official announcement video, posted last August, confirms the collaboration — Chiranjeevi, Bobby, KVN, produced by Lohith NK — and nothing more. No title, no date, no character names, no edit status. The Sankranthi window has circled in trade chatter since April–June, but it’s still trade chatter until the production stamps a date.
Casting notes — Anaswara Rajan as the daughter, Nivetha Pethuraj in a key role, Thaman as composer — are likewise from the trade report, not from the producers. Possible titles like “Kadiri Kaakaji” or “Kaaka” remain speculation, and the makers haven’t bothered to confirm a thing yet. In an industry that announces release dates before scripts, holding fire till it’s official would almost count as reform.
