DC locks Aug 7; AP–TS rights named
Sun Pictures moved Arun Matheswaran’s DC to August 7 and named Asian Suresh Entertainment for AP–Telangana, Gokulam Movies for Kerala–Karnataka. Overseas partners weren’t named, despite the “worldwide” poster.
DC’s August 7 release has named distributors for four Indian states; overseas partners remain unannounced.
DC will now release on August 7, 2026 — a week later than first announced — with an A certificate, according to the makers’ latest poster and announcements. The Tamil film is written and directed by Arun Matheswaran and stars Lokesh Kanagaraj in his acting debut alongside Wamiqa Gabbi. The earlier July 31 date is off; August 7 is what the ticketing listings show too.
What is confirmed for home screens: Sun Pictures said Asian Suresh Entertainment will handle theatrical distribution in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and Gokulam Movies in Kerala and Karnataka. That’s four states on the record. The same maker copy also says “releasing worldwide August 7th”. As ever, “worldwide” is a positioning line until someone names who is releasing it where.
For Telangana audiences and the diaspora watching the trade: AP–TS rights are with Asian Suresh, which is the point that matters if you’re booking shows here. The rest of the map — US, UK, GCC, Australia — hasn’t been put on paper by the makers yet. When it is, we’ll print the names, not the hype.
