DC shifts a week, aims worldwide

DC will now release on August 7 instead of July 31. The producer, Sun Pictures, announced the new date and said the film is certified “A” by the CBFC, with a “worldwide” rollout. According to the maker posts reproduced by multiple reports, AP and Telangana theatrical distribution is with Asian Suresh Entertainment, and Gokulam Movies will handle Kerala and Karnataka.

The date move came after the release calendar was reshaped this month by other big titles, but the makers have not said why they shifted. In this industry, the explanation typically arrives after the first Monday—if at all.

DC is written and directed by Arun Matheswaran, stars Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi (as Devadas and Chandra), and has music by Anirudh Ravichander. For Telangana audiences, the distributor line-up at least fixes its place on the calendar; the rest—screen counts, language versions, runtime—has not been put on the record yet. A clear date is more than most political manifestos manage.
