July 31 put four new titles on Telugu OTT — one official, two trade-confirmed, one from a tracker. Here’s what’s actually live and what’s merely “set to”.
Four releases arrived on July 31, with different levels of confirmation.
ZEE5 did the easy part and put it on the record: Objection, My Lord! — a seven-episode Telugu drama with Srikanth Meka and Mukesh Rishi — premiered July 31 with English subs. The platform’s own page lists all seven episodes dated July 31. According to ZEE5: “Narayana dies seeking justice for his missing daughter. Parashuram fights to prove she existed.”
Rao Bahadur, the Satya Dev–led feature, was lined up for a July 31 Netflix debut, per two trade reports — one noted it “is all set to premiere on Netflix on July 31,” and a tracker said the date was expected while “an official announcement was still awaited.” Those same reports, citing the CBFC record, also said references to Mahatma Gandhi and the 1975 Emergency were removed or modified ahead of the theatrical run. The CBFC document itself was not published alongside them.
Balan: The Boy was listed for a July 31 ZEE5 release by a trade tracker, which also said a Telugu version was available; ZEE5’s Telugu catalogue carries the title. It’s a Malayalam film made available to Telugu viewers, not a Telugu original.
And Deewana — the Geetha Arts-backed Telugu romance — was listed by a tracker as Aha Gold on July 30, opening to all Aha users July 31. No official Aha page turned up in the listings we checked.
So yes, four new options landed on July 31 — one with the platform’s own stamp, one with corroborated trade dates, and two riding tracker listings. The only thing missing is a press conference claiming this is “historic”, which, mercifully, the Congress and BJP haven’t tried to nationalise yet.
