Director Nag Ashwin says the sequel will resume when Prabhas is fully available, without offering a date for either the next schedule or release.

Kalki 2898 AD: Chapter 2 has completed only about 10 days of shooting, director Nag Ashwin said at the August 31 Hyderabad pre-release event for Dulquer Salmaan’s I’m Game. The sequel, it appears, is currently waiting for its planets to finish their administrative work.
“Not much. We shot for only about 10 days. Once Prabhas garu is free, we will shoot in a long stretch,” Ashwin said, according to reports carrying the event remark. He also said the planets had “aligned and even taken a round” and that filming would resume when they align for another round.
Ashwin did not give a date for Prabhas’s availability, the next schedule, completion or release. Reports have previously described December 2027 as a target, but that remains an industry report rather than an official announcement.
