The 69-foot Panchamukha Sankatahara Maha Ganapati at Hyderabad’s Khairatabad drew devotees on Ganesh Chaturthi, according to a report published on September 14. The report said rain did not deter visitors, with queues stretching and the venue packed. It gave no crowd estimate, rainfall figure, waiting time or police deployment count.
The idol’s height and theme were announced earlier by the Khairatabad Ganesh Utsav Committee. September 14 is listed as Vinayaka Chavithi in the Telangana government’s 2026 calendar. The government identifies Shiv Pratap Shukla as Telangana’s Governor, but his reported attendance at the first pooja, along with his spouse, was not independently confirmed in the material available.
