Prithviraj Sukumaran’s crime-action film Khalifa hits theatres on August 20 — certified in India, playing in the UAE, and announced in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. The numbers are records only on posters; for now, it’s on screens.

Khalifa opens today, August 20. That’s on Prithviraj Sukumaran’s own announcement (“Malayalam | Tamil | Telugu”), on the CBFC certificate dated August 13, and on UAE exhibitor listings already selling tickets. The marketing can argue about “worldwide”; the screens in front of people are the part that counts.
This is a Malayalam-language crime-action film directed by Vysakh, written and produced by Jinu V. Abraham (with Suraj Kumar as producer per the certificate). The CBFC classifies it UA 16+. VOX Cinemas files it under Action and a world of gold smuggling, revenge and influence — the genre does not pretend to be shy.
Cast is where the listings disagree. The CBFC record names Prithviraj, Mohanlal, Malavika Sharma, Mohini and Renji Panicker among the main actors. A UAE chain separately lists Neil Nitin Mukesh alongside Mohanlal and Prithviraj. That’s two public records and one mismatch; the film will settle it on screen.
For Telugu audiences: the official post put Telugu in the rollout. Hyderabad showtimes, screen counts and a distributor note were not published at the time of writing; if the makers want the language claim to land, the theatre boards will do it.
Budgets and “historic openings” are the usual festival-season throat-clearing. The certificate and the showtimes are the facts in hand.
