Prasanth Varma’s next PVCU chapter, Mahakali, is set to reveal its first look on August 24, according to the makers’ promos and trade coverage. A Hyderabad update pegged the date as “locked”, while other reports describe it as a first glimpse rather than a production launch. Either way, the line they’re pushing is “The End Begins.”

The project keeps the PVCU spine intact: Varma as creator, Puja Aparna Kolluru directing, RKD Studios backing with RK Duggal presenting and Riwaz Ramesh Duggal producing. Earlier on-record announcements also positioned the film as introducing a female superhero to the universe. Hyderabad schedules have been underway this year, with actor Rohit Saraf publicly wrapping a leg here in May.

Cast signals so far: Akshaye Khanna is on as Shukracharya — a studio tease introduced him as the “Asuraguru”. TeluguBulletin additionally lists Shriya Reddy, Bhoomi Shetty, Rohit Saraf, Khushbu Sundar, Rakesh Bedi, Kani Thandan, Rajat Kapoor, Murali Sharma, Nassar and Prudhviraj. Roles remain under wraps.

What’s still not public: the release date, languages, and the rest of the casting grid. The first look on August 24 is the concrete beat on the board. Telangana’s film machine keeps shipping work while the BJP and Congress argue about culture in pressers — the theatres answer with tickets, not talking points.
