Mahesh boosts nephew’s debut, date set
A video shout-out, a family legacy and a locked July 30 release for Srinivasa Mangapuram. The hype is from Hyderabad; the spin factories in Delhi can sit this one out.
Srinivasa Mangapuram is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on July 30.
Mahesh Babu has put his weight behind nephew Jai Krishna Ghattamaneni’s debut, asking his fans — and fans of his late father Krishna — to turn up for Srinivasa Mangapuram, which is slated to hit theatres on July 30. The endorsement came via a video message and a social post on July 26. According to a report that carried the transcript, Mahesh called Jai Krishna and co-lead Rasha Thadani “very promising,” credited director Ajay Bhupathi for presenting them well, and singled out GV Prakash Kumar’s music as the film’s backbone, naming “Allele” as his pick. He also noted the release shares a date with his own debut, Rajakumarudu.
The film is directed by Ajay Bhupathi, produced by P. Kiran and presented by C. Ashwini Dutt’s Vyjayanthi Movies, with Rasha — actor Raveena Tandon’s daughter — making her Telugu debut opposite Jai Krishna, the son of late actor Ramesh Babu and grandson of Krishna. The makers have announced a worldwide theatrical release on July 30.
There has been chatter about a pre-release event cameo. As of today, that’s just chatter; the available record carries Mahesh’s video appeal, not an attendance confirmation. Telangana cinema doesn’t need Delhi’s approval to launch its own — it needs audiences in seats on July 30, which, going by the family’s on-record push, is the actual plan.
