Annapurna Studios announced King100, Nagarjuna Akkineni’s 100th film as an actor, on August 29, his birthday. The studio also released the first glimpse and set a theatrical release for December 24, 2026. The film is written and directed by Ra Karthik, not Vijay Binni, as incorrectly reported elsewhere. The glimpse suggests a story about money, class, social labels and identity. Its voiceover says people called Nagarjuna’s character a “loser” without money and a “King” after he gained it, before adding that his identity is more powerful than money. It ends with “Long Live The King.” The promo also reportedly shows a scam-related news item involving his image, though the character’s role in it has not been explained. (DT Next)

Tabu has a pivotal role, while Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music. The December 24 date also belongs to Shah Rukh Khan’s separately produced Hindi film King, according to Red Chillies Entertainment. Telugu cinema has supplied the title; Bollywood has supplied the scheduling problem. (Red Chillies Entertainment)
