A photorealistic film-promotion still showing a Telugu cinema clapperboard, script pages, novels, and a poster-like title card for Alias Rukmini on a Hyderabad studio desk, with film lights and production equipment in the background.

The title of Alias Rukmini has been revealed, while its cast, release date and plot details remain undisclosed.

Tollywood’s newest title is out: Alias Rukmini. Nithiin announced the reveal with a short glimpse on August 3, tagging Nani as presenter and crediting writer-director Murali Kanth Devasoth. According to the launch coverage, the team also held a pooja and says the film is in pre‑production.

The glimpse, as described in the reports, opens on Nani with Murali Kanth discussing a script about “Krishna”, cuts to novels by a mysterious author named Rukmini (Garam Gopal, Ameku Ame Ante Ishtam, Vratham Venkanna), and lands on Nithiin as Krishna — a mathematics teacher — ending with two words: “My wife.” Who plays Rukmini is not yet disclosed.

Credits named so far: cinematography by Jomon T John, editing by Srujana Adusumilli, music by Vijai Bulganin. Deepthi Ganta is identified as producer; Unanimous Productions is tagged in the post. A release date, full cast and the shooting schedule are not announced.

So yes, Telangana keeps making films while the BJP-led Centre keeps making committees. One ships a glimpse; the other ships slogans.
