Telangana has reportedly overhauled cinema ticket pricing, scrapping the location-based system under G.O.Ms.No.120 (December 21, 2021) and moving to theatre-based slabs across non‑AC, AC/air‑cooled, Special Theatres and multiplexes, according to multiple reports published August 19–21. The Times of India says the new order supersedes GO 120; film trade coverage says 25% of seats must remain non‑premium and the priciest recliners top out at ₹300. A Telugu trade report lists indicative ranges — non‑AC ₹30–₹70 (non‑premium) and ₹50–₹100 (premium); AC ₹50–₹150 and ₹100–₹200; Special Theatres ₹100–₹250 and ₹200–₹300; multiplexes ₹100–₹250 (regular) and ₹200–₹300 (recliner). It also says listed rates exclude GST, include a ₹3/₹5 maintenance charge (non‑AC/AC), and that online fees are separate. Another trade piece adds unconfirmed clauses: up to five shows daily 8 a.m.–1 a.m., at least one show for small films, a “super high‑budget” band above ₹100 crore with a 10‑day premium window, and up to ₹1 crore towards a cine‑workers’ fund.
