One theatre in Hyderabad went housefull. The rest is claimed, not shown.
Chennai Love Story's makers say business is picking up. The only documented housefull is a single 70MM screen — everything else is trade estimate and fan chatter.
One housefull, one screen. The rest is claimed, not shown.
Chennai Love Story, the Telugu romantic drama starring Kiran Abbavaram and Sri Gouri Priya, released on July 24 after premieres a day earlier. According to 123telugu, the film's unit said it was happy after the first show at Hyderabad's Mythri Vimal 70MM went housefull. Beyond that one screen, the same report says housefull boards are going up at several theatres and that fans are celebrating on social media — without naming a single other theatre, city or occupancy figure, and without an on-record name attached to the makers' statement.
TeluguBulletin reported the film released across roughly 450 theatres in the Telugu states and nearly 700 screens worldwide. Trade estimates cited by TeluguBulletin put worldwide theatrical business at around Rs 15.25 crore so far, including nearly Rs 13 crore from the Telugu states — an estimate, not an audited figure, and not corroborated by a second outlet. A separate, unnamed-source report from m9.news claimed theatrical and non-theatrical rights were sold for around Rs 35 crore before release, putting the producers in profit; this too rests on unnamed sourcing.
Reviews have landed in the 2.75-3/5 range across GreatAndhra, Sakshi and Flickonclick. Kiran Abbavaram, returning to romance after a gap, is widely praised for a restrained first-half performance, but Flickonclick and 123telugu's own review both note the second half surrenders that goodwill to a more predictable, lighter tone.
