The Education portfolio has been assigned additional charge to Pralhad Joshi.
The President of India has accepted Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation from the Union Council of Ministers with immediate effect, acting on the Prime Minister’s advice, a Rashtrapati Bhavan communiqué said on 25 July.
The same order assigns the charge of the Ministry of Education to Cabinet minister Pralhad Joshi in addition to his existing portfolio.
Pradhan remains a sitting Lok Sabha member from Sambalpur, Odisha, according to the official Digital Sansad record.
The presidential communiqué does not state a reason for the resignation. Separately, reports have carried a statement attributed to Pradhan saying he submitted his resignation to prevent disruption and allow students to focus on studies; this has not been published on an official government channel and is reported as his statement in the press.
