Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the year’s biggest movie after just seven days, according to figures reported by AP that it attributes to studio estimates. The film’s 10‑day worldwide total is given as $1.67 billion, with $655.1 million from the US and Canada and over $1 billion overseas. Earlier, the reported opening weekend was $927 million worldwide: $355 million domestic and $572 million international — again, studio estimates.
For Telangana audiences, Sony pushed this one wide in India across six languages, Telugu included. Sony’s own Telugu trailer copy says “exclusively in cinemas on 31 July… in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada,” while other release material puts India a day earlier on 30 July. The studio hasn’t bothered to reconcile the two.
Sony’s synopsis has Peter Parker “fighting crime full‑time as Spider‑Man in a world that doesn’t remember him.” The box‑office trackers do, but they’re still the studio’s numbers filtered through trade reporting — not an audited ledger. Which is still a firmer record than most claims politicians in Delhi manage in a whole term.
