Sumanth’s Mahendragiri Varahi is “planning to release” in theatres on September 11, 2026, the team said at a date-announcement event reported this week. Cinema is national here — we’ll take the firm date when we get one; the industry rarely does punctual.
The film stars Sumanth and Aishwarya Rajesh, is directed by Santosh Jagarlamudi, and is produced by Kalipu Madhu and Lakshman under Rajashyamala Entertainments and Bridge Films. Reported supporting cast includes Meenakshi Goswami, Malavika Nair, Brahmanandam, Vennela Kishore, Rajeev Kanakala and Ali, with music by Anup Rubens. The June teaser note described Sumanth as an investigation officer up against a centuries‑old curse and village deaths — a plot description from the promo, not an audited synopsis.
At the event, producer Madhu said the teaser drew “very encouraging” response and that the team has “successfully closed the theatrical business.” No distributor names, territories or deal values were published, so treat that as a maker claim until papers show up. The trailer is “soon” and two songs are planned before release; no dates were given.
