TCS brings Hyderabad a 1GW promise

HyperVault has secured land in Hyderabad for a phased AI data-centre campus that is not yet operational.
Telangana has landed a serious AI-infrastructure proposal, even if the announcement arrived with the usual extra garnish. TCS subsidiary HyperVault says it has secured 264 acres in Hyderabad for a phased data-centre campus planned to reach up to 1 GW, with investment of up to Rs 70,000 crore.
That is projected investment, not Rs 70,000 crore already spent. The campus will be developed according to customer demand and technology requirements, TCS says, with high-density GPU infrastructure for AI training, inference and advanced computing. The company expects several thousand direct and indirect jobs and says the design will use green energy and water-neutral principles.
The phrase “India’s largest” is doing more work than the evidence. TCS describes the campus as expected to rank among India’s largest and most advanced; it does not establish a national ranking. The company has also not published the first-phase capacity, construction or commissioning dates, exact location, power arrangements or any customer contract. Hyderabad has secured the land. The rest is still a plan — which is more than a slogan, but not yet a data centre.
