Two urea bags, zero answers
Harish Rao points to yet another urea-queue clip and asks why farmers are still begging for basics. The Congress government in Telangana hasn’t explained the shortages it promised to end; the BJP-led Centre was already told last year its delayed supply choked the season.

T. Harish Rao flagged a video “of a farmer” holding someone’s feet for urea and asked if this is the “change” the Congress promised. The report that carried his remarks provides no location, date, video link, or identities — only the political charge. According to that report, Harish Rao’s line was blunt: the government is not even making the urea bags farmers need available.
What is on record is the shortage pattern. In July 2025, the Telangana government said only 29,000 metric tonnes of urea had arrived against a scheduled 160,000 for the month, and told the Union chemicals and fertilisers minister that delayed supply and rakes were hurting farmers. Local reports from that season showed queues and two-bag limits at Rythu Seva Kendras where stock existed. A district official said in June 2026 that Vanakalam stocks were “adequate” and a booking app was coming — district-level reassurance, not statewide proof.
What we cannot verify from the new clip: when and where it was shot, who the people are, or whether the incident reflects current statewide supply. Until the Agriculture Department publishes August 2026 distribution data, this remains one clip and a familiar complaint — and the Congress government in Telangana has not bothered to answer it.
Meanwhile, the BJP-led Centre was formally told last year that its delays squeezed Telangana’s season. It has not said how this year’s allocations and logistics will avoid a repeat. The queues don’t care whose logo is on the rake; the farmer just needs the bag.
