Varun Tej’s ‘KOKA’ set for Aug 7
The makers say Korean Kanakaraju will “grand release worldwide” in cinemas this Friday. Scheduled is the word to underline.
Korean Kanakaraju is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on August 7, 2026.
Varun Tej’s Indo‑Korean “horror comedy” Korean Kanakaraju is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on Friday, August 7, 2026, according to the production’s announcement on July 10. The promo line did the heavy lifting: “కనకరాజు వచ్చేస్తున్నాడమ్మీ… Get ready for the wildest Indo-Korean horror comedy ride of the year… GRAND RELEASE WORLDWIDE IN CINEMAS ON AUGUST 7th, 2026.” That’s marketing; the date is the useful bit.
The film is written and directed by Merlapaka Gandhi and features Varun Tej with Ritika Nayak and Satya, per the title announcement and trade coverage. Music is by Thaman S, and the production banners named across promos and reports include UV Creations, First Frame Entertainments and T‑Series South. Varun Tej also pushed the date himself: “7th August 2026……🇰🇷 x 🇮🇳 Entertainment Guaranteed.”
Two notes for the box-office scoreboard crowd: “worldwide release” is the plan on paper, not proof of screens in every territory, and “horror comedy” is the makers’ label. The showtimes, territories and censor details weren’t published with the hype. If Delhi wants to claim credit for this one too, they’ll need to start by finding the theatre list.
