Vijay’s ‘final’ film races on estimates

Trade trackers say Jana Nayagan hit ₹171.84 crore worldwide in 3 days. Telugu version’s Day 3 slice: ₹1.40 crore; AP+TS gross: ₹2.09 crore — estimates, not audited cash.

A cinema ticket counter in Telangana displays a large film poster marked “FINAL BOW”, while a trade-estimate scoreboard shows rupee figures on loose slips and an auditor’s empty chair sits nearby.

Trade estimates put Jana Nayagan’s three-day worldwide gross at ₹171.84 crore.

Jana Nayagan, billed by its own site as Vijay’s final bow, opened July 23 and is being tracked like an election night. Trade estimates cited by multiple reports put its three-day worldwide gross at ₹171.84 crore, with ₹108.34 crore India gross and ₹92.35 crore India net — Sacnilk’s numbers, not studio filings.

For Telugu audiences, the film did release in Telugu alongside Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam. Reported Day 3 contribution from the Telugu version was ₹1.40 crore, and Andhra Pradesh plus Telangana combined gross was pegged at ₹2.09 crore that day — again, trade estimates. A clean Telangana-only figure is not publicly available.

The official site calls it “one final bow” and “officially his final cinematic project” before politics. The rest — screen counts, distributor share, audited collections — hasn’t been published. Which, unlike coalition math in Delhi, is at least honestly labelled as an estimate here.
