Romanchakam Finds Charm in Its Cheerful Chaos

Romanchakam arrives with the curiosity of a Sandeep Reddy Vanga presentation, but wisely leaves the grim man-with-a-mission machinery outside the theatre. Directed by Venu Gopal Reddy, this is a youthful Telugu romantic comedy built around romance, friendship and the sort of situational chaos that refuses to file its paperwork.

Its biggest strength is the ensemble. Sumanth Prabhas and Ananthika Sanilkumar make an agreeable lead pair, while Venkatesh Kakumanu, Mani Aegurla and the supporting cast supply the lived-in camaraderie that keeps the familiar framework buoyant. Upendra Limaye adds further texture, and the group chemistry is where the film feels most naturally entertaining.

The trailer promised a breezy ride, and the early audience response broadly backs that up: the comedy, friendship and performances are landing, even if the writing and pacing occasionally wobble. This is not a precision-engineered rom-com; it is a little messy, sometimes uneven, but clearly made with an instinct for crowd-pleasing energy. The post-interval momentum reportedly gives it an extra push when the screenplay needs one.

Vasuki Vaibhav’s music and background score help maintain the colourful, easygoing mood, while the promotional material gets the film’s tone right without pretending it is the second coming of anything. Go for the laughs, the chemistry and the cheerful disorder.

A rom-com this chaotic clearly needs a producer, a therapist and better time management, but it still earns the ticket.
