vivo T5 5G Has Battery for Days, Patience for Charging

The vivo T5 5G is a phone built around one persuasive idea: never seeing a low-battery warning again. Its 7,050mAh cell is the star of the show, wrapped in a 7.99mm body with a 6.83-inch 1.5K curved AMOLED display, 144Hz refresh rate and enough visual polish to make the phone look more expensive than it is. The marketing, for once, has found a real feature rather than merely placing “AI” beside a noun.

At ₹34,999 for 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, the T5 is not cheap, though launch offers can bring the effective price closer to ₹31,499. The 12GB plus 256GB version reaches ₹49,999, a figure that suggests vivo has confused additional memory with a premium passport. At that price, buyers are no longer comparing it only with mid-rangers; pricier alternatives begin making very reasonable noises from the next shelf.

The battery is genuinely excellent. Early testing indicates comfortable full-day endurance even with demanding use, including gaming. Travellers, heavy users and anyone whose power bank is itself frequently unemployed will appreciate the T5’s stamina. The Dimensity 7500 Turbo should handle everyday work, multitasking and gaming reliably, while the bright, smooth curved display supplies the glamour. IP68/IP69 protection is also welcome, although “military-grade” remains the sort of phrase that works harder in a launch presentation than in real life.

The catch is the 44W charging. A 7,050mAh battery is wonderful until it needs refilling, at which point vivo’s FlashCharge branding starts sounding like a request to remain calm. Long endurance partly excuses slower charging, but not entirely at this price. A phone that lasts longer should not feel as though it needs to book an appointment with the wall socket.

The camera setup is similarly uneven. The 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera with OIS should be capable in ordinary use, but the 8MP ultra-wide looks like a box-ticking exercise. It is present, technically, while contributing about as much ambition as a decorative spare tyre. The 32MP selfie camera and OriginOS 6’s AI tools round out the package, though the latter are useful conveniences rather than evidence that smartphones have suddenly developed a personality.

The T5’s real value depends entirely on what you prioritise. If battery life is the main event, the phone makes a strong case, and the display and dependable performance stop it from being a one-trick slab. If you want fast charging, versatile cameras or genuinely premium value, the compromises become harder to ignore. The 6GB base model is the sensible buy; the ₹49,999 variant is where the arithmetic leaves the building.

Buy the base vivo T5 5G if your phone’s primary job is surviving the day; skip the top model, because vivo has priced a battery monster like a flagship and charged it like a tortoise.
