Representatives of 49 families in Tallarampur village of Yergatla mandal, Nizamabad district, met Commissioner of Police P. Sai Chaitanya on September 23 and submitted a complaint seeking protection and action, according to reports. The group includes 39 Goud families and 10 Scheduled Caste families — apparently 49 households, once arithmetic is allowed into the room.
The complaint alleges that villagers were told not to speak to the families, shopkeepers were instructed not to sell them essential goods, and anyone interacting with them could face a ₹25,000 fine. The alleged boycott began on September 22. The dispute is linked in the reports to disagreements over toddy tapping, toddy trees and payments sought by the village development committee. The families also allege damage to toddy trees and the sale of four acres of community land; those claims have not been independently verified.
Police are investigating, but no FIR number, legal sections or current statement from the VDC or police commissioner was available in the reports. The village had a related dispute in 2025, when police reportedly registered a case after Goud women were stopped from participating in a temple ritual. The earlier controversy has a record. The new one, for now, has a complaint and unanswered questions.
