A house in Repally village of Jogulamba Gadwal district was partly demolished after a Dalit man married a woman from the Boya community, according to police statements reported by multiple publications. The marriage took place on September 9 and the damage was reported on September 10. One room of the two-room house was completely demolished, according to the police account carried by PTI.
Gadwal Rural police registered a case under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Reports differ on whether a tractor or JCB was used; police seized a tractor, according to later reporting. The scene now has a police picket. Even the demolition equipment has produced competing versions, which is more clarity than the accused family has provided publicly.
DSP Mogilayya said seven people were arrested, produced before a court and sent to judicial remand. The report carrying that figure is the only supplied source to confirm seven remands, and the names listed there contain a repeated entry. The alleged accused or the woman’s family have not publicly responded in the material reviewed.
