The Telangana Housing Board says it will issue allotment letters this week to 5,521 eligible applicants under the Indiramma Towers affordable-housing scheme. The announcement is about letters, not possession. The keys have not entered the story yet.
Reports citing Housing Board vice-chairperson and Housing Commissioner V.P. Gautham say 7,340 applicants were selected in the lucky draw. Field verification was completed for either 6,643 or 6,660 applicants, depending on the report. The Board has not published a primary document resolving that small but useful disagreement.
The Housing Board’s public website lists the CURE-area Indiramma Indlu project and an application-status page, but the accessible material does not show a possession register, completion schedule, utility-connection record or confirmation that allotment letters have actually been issued. A previous report said construction was expected to begin soon and finish in one year. That was a target, not a home.
The Board has also warned applicants against middlemen seeking money and advised them to deposit instalments only into designated bank accounts. Until the government publishes construction progress, service details and possession dates, the scheme has produced a selection list and a promise of paperwork. The Congress government can keep announcing the envelope; Telangana’s families still need the address.
