Hyderabad’s ₹70,000-crore data centre meets paperwork
TCS confirms HyperVault and a national 1GW plan. The Hyderabad land, jobs and investment figures remain claims in a single report.

Hyderabad has apparently acquired a ₹70,000-crore AI data centre, 264 acres and 7,000 jobs. The paperwork has not yet joined the announcement.
A September 5 report attributed to PTI said TCS subsidiary HyperVault had secured the land and planned a 1GW campus, with inauguration targeted for June 2, 2028. It also quoted Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy urging that deadline and assuring the company of approvals. The Congress government in Telangana has not publicly linked those claims to a land document, investment agreement or official project release.
TCS does confirm that HyperVault exists, is wholly owned by it and was created to establish AI and sovereign data centres. Its website says more than 1GW of capacity is planned across India. But TCS’s annual report describes a TCS–TPG platform with investment of up to ₹18,000 crore. The report does not explain how that becomes ₹70,000 crore in Hyderabad. The Congress government has announced the large number; it has yet to publish the small documents that would make it real. For now, Hyderabad has a data-centre promise and a deadline, but no publicly available proof of the land or the money.
