Police station, two cases, one CCTV order

CCTV footage from the station has been ordered preserved while accounts of the incident remain disputed.
KTR aide Mahesh Manikya was taken from Saifabad police station to Bollarum on September 17 in connection with a separate September 8 case, not the September 7 Assembly-protest case alone. Bollarum police alleged that he obstructed officers during a BRS convoy movement; reports say he was released around 4.30 a.m. on September 18 after a notice under Section 35(3) of the BNSS. [1][2]
The more serious dispute concerns September 14 questioning at Saifabad. Mahesh and KTR alleged that masked men entered the station and attacked the aides. Their accounts differ on the number involved: 25–30 according to Mahesh, around 15 according to KTR. The police version, attributed to Khairatabad DCP K Shilpavalli, is that no assault occurred and that an argument began with men seeking permission for a Ganesh Chaturthi DJ programme. The footage has not been publicly produced, so neither account is independently established. [3][4][5]
The Telangana High Court has reportedly directed authorities to preserve CCTV footage from the station, including entry points and the interrogation room, and to take precautions when the aides appear again. The court’s order itself was not publicly available in the material reviewed. For now, the police have a denial, the aides have an allegation, and the CCTV has been promoted to the only adult in the room. [6][7]
