BRS social-media convenor Manne Krishank was taken into custody at his Hyderabad residence on September 18 and shifted to the Central Crime Station for questioning, according to reports. Police arrived at about 5 a.m., in what is an unusually early hour for paperwork to discover its urgency.
The case is linked to a social-media post, but the exact post, FIR sections and police station have not been made public in the material reviewed. Reports differ on whether it concerned a BRS protest around the Assembly or an incident at Saifabad police station. Krishank had reportedly been questioned and released on September 17 before being taken into custody again.
Krishank said police told him they had come to serve a notice. He and the BRS alleged that officers tried to force their way into the house; that claim is not independently confirmed. KTR accused the Revanth Reddy government of suppressing free speech and demanded answers from Rahul Gandhi, saying, “Telangana is demanding answers, Mr. Rahul Gandhi.” Neither a formal police account nor a response from Rahul Gandhi or the Telangana Congress government was located. The notice may exist. The explanation apparently does not.
