Mahesh questioned overnight, FIR still missing

KTR’s public-relations officer Mahesh Manikya was taken to Bollarum police station after appearing at Saifabad police station and questioned overnight, according to published reports. He was released at about 4:30 a.m. on September 18 after reportedly being served a notice under Section 35(3) of the BNSS. Whether he was arrested or detained has not been established. The reports use both words, which is not how legal status is meant to work.

Bollarum police reportedly registered a case over a September 8 incident at the check-post under Sections 132 and 223 of the BNS. Police allege that Mahesh obstructed officers and pushed or confronted them while BRS leaders were being stopped from travelling towards KCR’s Erravelli farmhouse. The complaint was reportedly lodged by SI K. Sunny. The FIR, complaint and notice were not available in the material reviewed.

A separate report said police visited BRS social-media convenor Manne Krishank’s residence early on September 18 over a social-media post. That account rests on a report describing CCTV shared by BRS; no FIR or police confirmation was located. The police have not bothered to publish the paperwork that would settle the basic questions. For now, the case has a police version, a release and missing documents.
