Charles Schwab has set up an India subsidiary in Hyderabad and is hiring for its first technology centre here. The Telangana government said in August 2024 that Hyderabad was Schwab’s chosen prospective location; the company incorporated Charles Schwab Services India Private Limited on 4 September 2025 with a registered address in the city, and is now posting Hyderabad roles across software, engineering and brokerage-services support.
Lease records reviewed by a property-data firm and reported in March 2026 show Schwab has taken about 345,426 sq ft — floors 10 to 14 — in Phoenix Equinox Tower 2, Gachibowli, on a five-year term at roughly ₹3.73 crore a month. Schwab’s own job listings call Hyderabad “central to Schwab’s growth” and say teams here will build and support systems used by millions of clients, including converting some contractors to employees as the centre scales.
What nobody has put on the record yet: a formal “opening” date, a verified current headcount, or the 2,000‑jobs‑by‑2027 number doing the rounds. The state’s 2024 note framed Hyderabad as the prospective site pending final approvals, and the company’s corporate pages don’t publish a ribbon‑cutting. The buildout is real; the breathless numbers can wait for an author. Telangana is doing its part; Delhi’s parties can claim credit when they sign the lease and post the jobs board.
