The Congress government suspended the BRS legislators from the Telangana Assembly for the remainder of the Monsoon Session. So the BRS moved the Assembly to Telangana Bhavan on September 12 and held a mock sitting instead. The venue changed; the questions did not.
K. Manik Rao played the Speaker, Talasani Srinivas Yadav played the Chief Minister, and BRS leaders raised issues involving irrigation, power supply, farmers, land administration, tribal welfare, SC/ST concerns and Congress election promises, according to a report on the event. Talasani’s line on the promise to implement guarantees within 100 days was: “We said we would implement the guarantees within 100 days, but did we say which 100 days?” It is difficult to improve on a deadline that comes with its own escape hatch.
BRS leaders made several claims about water-sharing, power shortages, land records and welfare implementation.
