Telangana has been offered three Army officers for possible deputation to the Srisailam Left Bank Canal tunnel and rehabilitation of the Medigadda, Annaram and Sundilla barrages. The officers named are Lt Col Satyadev Singh, Lt Col Ranjit A. Menon and Lt Col H. V. Bhalla, according to a reported Telangana government release. The Military Secretary’s Branch at the Integrated Headquarters of the Ministry of Defence reportedly offered them for selection by the state.
The proposed allocation is one officer for the two SLBC excavation fronts and two for the three Kaleshwaram barrages. Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said the state is likely to take all three on deputation, citing its experience with Col Parikshit Mehra. The reported target for the remaining SLBC work is June 2028, with about 35 km of the roughly 44-km tunnel said to be complete.
The important word is “offered”. No formal deputation order, reporting date, powers, terms or individual project allocation is publicly available in the material reviewed. The Army engineers may be on the way. The paperwork is still doing reconnaissance.
