The 22-A land dispute has become a Congress–BRS resignation exchange, with the Congress government defending its handling of prohibited-property grievances by changing the subject to KCR.
BRS leader T. Harish Rao has repeatedly demanded Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy’s resignation over alleged additions of private and patta land to the Section 22-A list. He has cited figures including about 15 lakh acres statewide and alleged a “30% collection racket”. Those figures and allegations have not been independently established in the material reviewed.
Ponguleti said the government would place the facts before the Assembly, including the extent listed under the previous and current governments. On September 12, he answered Harish Rao by asking whether KCR should resign after allegedly receiving Rs 21 crore while avoiding the Assembly.
