Suspended MLAs hold the Assembly anyway
After 22 BRS MLAs were suspended for the Monsoon Session, the party staged its own proceedings at Telangana Bhavan, complete with a mock Revanth Reddy and a mock Speaker.

The Telangana Assembly suspended 22 BRS MLAs for the remainder of its Monsoon Session on September 9. Three days later, the BRS held an Assembly of its own at Telangana Bhavan. Democracy, now available in two venues.
K. Manik Rao, the Zaheerabad MLA, acted as Speaker. Talasani Srinivas Yadav played Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. The mock proceedings were used to raise issues the BRS said it could not pursue in the Assembly, including irrigation, jobs, 22-A properties, agricultural power and women’s safety. Those claims remain political allegations, not independently established findings in the material reviewed.
The suspension followed protests over demands for discussion on alleged police misconduct involving women legislators and threats against K. Chandrashekar Rao. Congress members sought discussion of a BRS “purification” exercise near KCR’s Erravelli residence. Congress leader Motha Rohit defended the suspension and accused the BRS of ridiculing the government rather than raising public issues. No formal response from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the government or the Assembly Secretariat was located. The government suspended the opposition, and the opposition brought the legislature to Telangana Bhavan. Both sides now have a House; only one has the microphones.
