SIR’s second weekend arrives; final deadline still missing
Telangana’s electoral-roll verification drive enters its second scheduled campaign weekend, but the overall claims deadline remains unclear.
The SIR campaign weekend is scheduled for September 12–13; the overall claims deadline remains unconfirmed.
Telangana’s Chief Electoral Office was reported to have scheduled September 12 and 13 as the second special campaign weekend for claims and objections to draft electoral rolls prepared under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). The election calendar, as usual, arrives with a timetable but not quite all the answers.
According to a September 4 report, voters can visit designated polling stations to verify the draft roll and submit Forms 6, 7 and 8. Booth Level Officers and party Booth Level Agents are expected to assist with checking entries. Claims and objections can also be filed through the regular process at Electoral Registration Officer offices.
The CEO Telangana website confirms the SIR-2026 draft rolls, claims-and-objections links and lists relating to unmapped, anomalous, absent, shifted, dead and duplicate electors. Its accessible homepage does not, however, display the September 12–13 schedule; the press-release section shows “NA”. The overall deadline for claims and objections, any extension, and the date for publishing revised rolls remain unconfirmed. The schedule is documented. The finish line is not.
