Farmers in several villages of Siddipet constituency protested alleged unscheduled power cuts and poor-quality electricity supply on September 12, according to a published report. They gathered at Kondamrajpally sub-station, blocked roads in Jakkapur and Chinna Kodur, and protested in Lakshmidevipally. A representation was eventually given to a line inspector at Kondamrajpally.
The complaints came a day after related protests were reported across Siddipet district, including dharnas at Kammarpally and Vittalapur substations and a blockade that halted traffic on the Siddipet–Mustabad road for two hours. Protesters also accused the assistant engineer of delaying his arrival and alleged that the sub-station operator was confined during the Kondamrajpally protest. Those claims have not been independently confirmed by police, the electricity department or TGNPDCL.
The Telangana government’s January 2024 policy release promised “24-hour free power supply to the farmers” and instructed officials to ensure uninterrupted, better-quality supply. That is the policy on paper. TGNPDCL’s public complaint numbers are 18004250028 and 1912, but the utility has not publicly explained the Siddipet complaints in the material reviewed. The promise remains available; the feeder logs do not.
