Hyderabad district scheduled a Phase‑II open auction of 87 vacant commercial shops inside GHMC’s 2BHK colonies for 31 July and 1 August. The notice is public; the outcome isn’t.

Hyderabad’s district administration has “proposed to conduct Open Public Auction” of 87 vacant commercial shops “constructed by GHMC in Hyderabad District” on 31 July and 1 August 2026, according to Notification No. Housing/H2/996/2026 dated 17 July and uploaded on 24 July. The sale condition is the classic “As is where is condition”.
Venues named in the notice: Hari Hara Kala Bhavan, Secunderabad, and Babu Jagjivan Ram Bhavan, Banjara Hills. The lots span colonies from Bandlaguda, Jangammet and Farooq Nagar to Kamalanagar, Chilkalguda (Dhobi Ghat), Bandamaisamma and SC Bose Nagar, with shop sizes from 66 sq ft to 252 sq ft. Upset prices run from Rs 2,700 per sq ft in several colonies to Rs 4,800 in Kamalanagar. An Earnest Money Deposit of Rs 30,000 was to be submitted at the venue between 9.30 am and 11 am on auction day.
This is labeled Phase‑II. The district site also lists an April 2026 auction notice for commercial shops in GHMC/CURE areas, but the July document does not explain Phase I or link outcomes to Phase‑II inventory. As of 2 August, the website carries the auction notice and schedule, not bidder lists, hammer prices, revenue or occupancy updates. If the auction date happens to be a holiday, the notice says it moves to the next working day; what actually happened still isn’t recorded.
So yes, the shops were put on the block on paper — and unlike the Congress and BJP’s habit of selling Telangana short, this one at least prints the rates and the rooms. Now put up the results, not just the notice.
