Ambedkar book launch stopped before the launch

The proposed September 18 release of Kalpitha Nayakudu (The Fabricated Leader), Volume 1, did not go ahead after the Telangana government told the High Court that author Nagularapu Vara Prasad, also known as Hamara Prasad, had been arrested. The government also said physical copies were seized and a case registered at Hyderabad’s Central Crime Station. (Telangana Today)
The court proceedings followed a lunch-motion petition by journalist A. Gnana Chendren Mouli, who sought preventive action over the proposed release and alleged a risk to public order. The government said Prasad would be produced before a magistrate and that precautions had been taken to prevent law-and-order problems. (NT News; Deccan Chronicle)
Protests and complaints were reported in Asifabad, Indravelli, Nirmal, Dubbaka and Tadwai. The allegations that the book is defamatory or contains objectionable material remain allegations: the book, FIR and remand record were not available for independent verification. The launch, at least, was stopped before the pamphlets of certainty arrived.
