Four people were reported dead and a 16-year-old was feared drowned in separate incidents linked to Ganesh immersion activities in Telangana between Wednesday night and Friday morning, according to reports reviewed by Telangana.Social.
Koppula Rajashekhar, 23, of Jagtial district, was reported electrocuted while helping with a sound system at an immersion procession. Another 48-year-old man collapsed while dancing during a Jagtial procession and later died in hospital. Reports differ on his name—Toparapu Ajay in one account and Thoparapu Jayanth in another—and attributed the death to a cardiac event.
Two drowning deaths were reported: Lokande Vishal, 26, near Basar, and Chunchu Ramesh, 45, in the Kaddam project backwaters at Kurrugudam. The reports did not provide independent official confirmation for either death. Thandra Ahan Rudra, 16, was reported feared drowned at Buddipelli in Karimnagar district; his subsequent status was not available in the material reviewed.
