Four women have been reported dead after a lorry collided with an auto-rickshaw near Naspur Gate in Mancherial district on September 28. The women were travelling to work at shopping malls in Mancherial, according to multiple reports.
Aggu Soundarya, Chintakuntla Laxmi, Thatipelli Soniya and Thogari Sumalatha were named among the dead. Two died at the scene and two during treatment. Naspur sub-inspector Mohammed Taheseenuddin told a report that the impact left the auto badly damaged. The circumstances leading to the collision remain under investigation; accounts differ on whether the auto or lorry entered the other vehicle’s path.
One report said Ramtenki Divya Vani, 33, later died at a Warangal hospital, taking the toll to five. No accessible police, hospital or district administration record confirms that death. Officials were reported to have discussed changes to dividers, road design and signage after the crash. The road gets corrective attention after four deaths. The fifth death still awaits a record less fragile than a report.
