Anahat Singh won silver in the women’s singles squash event at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games after losing the final to Malaysia’s Sivasangari Subramaniam 4-11, 4-11, 7-11, according to event reporting. Sivasangari retained the title she won at the Hangzhou Games.
Singh, 18, had already made history by becoming the first Indian woman to reach an Asian Games women’s singles squash final. She got there by defeating Japan’s Satomi Watanabe 9-11, 11-13, 12-10, 11-6, 11-3 after saving two match points.
Reports also describe Singh as the first Indian woman to win Asian Games singles silver, though an official historical medal record confirming that distinction was not located. Her defeat ended her chance to claim the Asian Games winner’s reported direct qualification place for LA28. It does not establish that she is out of the Olympics altogether. The gold went to Malaysia; the history went to India.
