Andhra’s 870 ‘fakes’ still waiting for paperwork
The TDP government says Mega DSC was verified. The YSRCP says jobs were sold. The records that could settle it remain unavailable.
The candidate-level verification record remains unavailable.
The Andhra Pradesh government has issued 15,941 appointment orders under Mega DSC-2025, after advertising 16,347 teacher posts, including 421 under the sports quota. It says the process was conducted under the rules and that certificates were sent to issuing bodies for verification. The Sports Authority’s stated position is simple: “No certificate without verification was taken into account.” (New Indian Express)
The YSRCP, meanwhile, has demanded Education Minister Nara Lokesh’s resignation and a CBI inquiry, alleging fake BC and sports certificates, appointments without TET and teacher posts being “put up for sale”. Those are allegations, not established findings. A 2025 report attributed a figure of 870 allegedly fake applications to the Sports Authority chairman, but the underlying list and verification record have not been published in the material reviewed. The Andhra Pradesh High Court records show disputes over merit lists, sports priority, reservation and roster implementation. A later report said some judo certificates remained under vigilance examination. So the government has a process, the opposition has accusations, and the public still lacks the candidate-level verification trail. “Transparent” is doing a lot of work while the paperwork remains backstage.
