Congress finds a BJP–BRS alliance, loses the evidence
The “birds of a feather” charge is documented. The alliance is not.
The alleged alliance remains unsupported by an agreement, joint campaign or coordinated action.
The Congress has produced a slogan, not a BJP–BRS alliance.
At a September 11 press conference in Sircilla, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Medi Ravichandra alleged that the BJP government at the Centre and the BRS were “birds of a feather”. The report carrying the allegation provides no agreement, seat-sharing arrangement, coordinated vote, joint campaign or specific instance of the two parties acting together. It also records no response from either party.
The available record points the other way on a formal alliance. Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao said in March there was “no question” of an alliance with the BRS, while BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao said the party would contest independently.
What is documented is a political fight: K. Chandrashekar Rao has announced a mass mobilisation against the Congress government over irrigation, including Kaleshwaram and Palamuru-Rangareddy. Congress has made its charge; it has not supplied the missing paperwork. The BJP–BRS alliance currently exists most securely in the Congress press conference.
