Ranabaali postponed, history gets October booking
The teaser arrived on September 9. The film did not arrive on September 11. It now has an October 16 worldwide release date.
Ranabaali has been postponed from September 11 to October 16, 2026.
The teaser for Ranabaali arrived on September 9, but the film’s September 11 release did not. The producers have moved its worldwide theatrical release to October 16, 2026 — giving the colonial past a little more time in the scheduling department.
The official teaser, titled “The Savage’s Oath”, presents Vijay Deverakonda as Singanamala Bobbili Ranabaali, a rebel warrior from Rayalaseema, with Rashmika Mandanna as Jayamma and Arnold Vosloo as Sir Theodore Hector. Promotional material places the story in nineteenth-century Rayalaseema against the backdrop of British rule and the Madras Famine of 1876–78. That is the film’s premise, not yet an independently verified historical account.
Rahul Sankrityan directs the film, produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers and presented by T-Series Films. The makers call it a “PAN India Movie” and promise that “the darkest chapter of our history opens this October”. For now, the confirmed chapter is simpler: the teaser is out, the old release date is not, and October 16 is doing the actual work.
