Three Telugu films, one crowded weekend, zero verdicts
Maremma released on September 10; Epic: First Semester and Mahendragiri Varahi followed on September 11. The box-office scoreboard is still mostly theatre fog.
Three Telugu releases opened across a crowded weekend; the box-office verdict remains pending.
Three Telugu films entered Telangana theatres in a packed multi-language release window, and the industry has not yet produced a reliable winner. Maremma released on September 10, while Epic: First Semester and Mahendragiri Varahi were listed for September 11. TeluguCinema described the weekend as crowded, with three Telugu films and two dubbed releases arriving around the Ganesh festival and long weekend. (source)
Maremma, directed by Manchala Nagaraj and led by Maadhav Bhupathiraju and Deepa Balu, had Hyderabad showtimes at multiple cinemas. Epic, directed by Aditya Haasan and starring Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya, is listed for September 11 by several calendars. Mahendragiri Varahi, starring Sumanth and directed by Santhossh Jagarlapudi, was also listed for September 11, including on BookMyShow. (source) (source)
Online trackers have posted preliminary estimates, but their own listings conflict and are not audited. So no film gets to be called a hit, flop or winner yet. The release calendar has spoken. The box office is still composing its reply.
