The party is using September 17 to campaign on history, fee dues and crop insurance. Its claim to have replaced the BRS remains a claim.

The BJP has turned September 17 into a campaign package: “Telangana Liberation Day”, textbook changes, fee-reimbursement dues and crop insurance. The slogan is new only in the sense that it has been repeated more loudly this year.

The party is demanding that the history of the Telangana liberation struggle be added to school textbooks alongside Operation Polo, and has announced seminars, cultural programmes, a book release and a parade-related event. That is a demand, not proof that the current textbooks omit the history. The BJP has also claimed it collected signatures from around eight lakh students; no independent verification of that figure is available.

On fee reimbursement, BJP leaders have cited different totals, including Rs 15,000 crore. The state government says payments are being released in Rs 200-crore instalments, while some colleges were withheld from payment over alleged irregularities. Union records say Telangana opted out of PM Fasal Bima Yojana after implementing it for some seasons; the BJP is campaigning on the issue, but the current 2026 state position is not established.

The BRS government called September 17 National Integration Day. The Congress government calls it Praja Palana Dinotsavam. The BJP calls its own formulation the only acceptable one and is trying to claim the Opposition space. Harish Rao has rejected that claim, saying the BRS is ahead in raising issues in the Assembly. The BJP has a campaign. It has not yet produced a takeover.
