Keesara bribe case has three demands, one missing FIR
Reports say the Telangana ACB trapped a Keesara SI over an alleged Rs 5 lakh payment. The paperwork remains elsewhere.
Conflicting accounts remain, while the FIR is not in the file.
The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau is reported to have trapped Keesara police station sub-inspector Gnanender Reddy while he was allegedly receiving Rs 5 lakh from a complainant in a case involving alleged PDS rice smuggling. Telangana Today reported that the alleged payment was sought in return for help in the case and protection from further harassment at the station.
Keesara Inspector A. Anjaneyulu was also booked over alleged involvement in the demand, according to the same report. The official Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate page lists A. Anjaneyulu as the station’s inspector.
The figures, however, have already started disagreeing. One report put the alleged demand at Rs 8 lakh, later reduced to Rs 6 lakh; another said it was Rs 10 lakh for station bail, with Rs 5 lakh to be handed to the SI. No FIR, ACB press note, arrest record or remand document was found in the material reviewed. The case therefore has two media accounts and, for now, no public paperwork to settle them.
